On the penultimate weekend in March, FiltaFry franchise partners again came from all over Germany and Austria for their annual meeting in Wunderland Kalkar at the Dutch border. There are now 12 franchisees providing FiltaFry’s mobile full service fryer management throughout Germany and in Austria.

“Every year, new franchisees are coming on board, and almost all of them were here”, says Jos van Aalst, Managing Director of FiltaFry Germany. Under the heading, “FiltaFry rocks Europe”, there was a lively exchange of experiences as always with a view to future business orientation and the new additional services that the partners can include in their portfolio. “There were many good ideas that we will now implement one by one”, says Aalst. “My thanks to everyone for these.”

Thomas Welp made his debut as new Business Development Manager, and last but not least the new Gen4 filter machine was also a focal point. Mark Flintoft, Technical Director of the manufacturer, ETL Fluid Experts, provided the most important information directly via Skype from the UK.

Filta – full-service mobile fryer management – was founded in 1996 in the UK and operates on a franchise basis. Today Filta is established in many countries around the world and is also active in Germany (since 2015) and Austria (since 2018) with FiltaFry Deutschland GmbH. The concept consists of filtering the cooking oil and on-site fryer cleaning including the professional disposal of waste oil. Upon request, Filta delivers fresh oil and refills the fryers. Furthermore Filta provides additional mobile services: the direct on-site replacement of refrigerator seals and regular, chemical-free drain cleaning, as well as state-of-the-art solutions for grease separation and cleaning of extraction systems. Filta is part of Franchise Brands Group since May 2022.

Customers include restaurants and snack bars, hotels, caterers, sports venues, leisure parks, and company and university canteens among many others. Filta is an active member of the German Franchise Association as well as the Greentable and United against Waste initiatives. Filta received the Green Franchise Award, the German Award for Sustainability Projects and the German Sustainability Award in 2022. www.filtafry.eu
