Purpose of Processing

  • Provision of the online presence, its functions and content.
  • Responding to contact and service enquiries and communicating with users.
  • Security measures.
  • Reach measurement and statistical analysis.

In accordance with Art. 13 GDPR, we inform you of the legal basis for our data processing. Unless the legal basis is stated otherwise in this policy, the following applies: the legal basis for obtaining consent is Art. 6(1)(a) and Art. 7 GDPR; for processing to perform our services and answer enquiries, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; for compliance with our legal obligations, Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR; and for safeguarding our legitimate interests, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Security Measures

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures in accordance with legal requirements, taking into account the state of the art, implementation costs and the nature, scope, circumstances and purposes of processing, as well as the risk to the rights and freedoms of natural persons, to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risk. Measures include ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data, and serving the data subject rights set out below.

Cooperation with Processors and Third Parties

If, in the course of our processing, we disclose data to other persons and companies (processors or third parties), transmit it to them or otherwise grant them access, this is done only on the basis of legal permission, your consent, a legal obligation or our legitimate interests (e.g. when using hosting providers or form services). Where we engage processors, we do so on the basis of a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

Transfers to Third Countries

If we process data in a third country (outside the EU/EEA), or if this occurs in the course of using third-party services, it only takes place to fulfil our (pre)contractual obligations, on the basis of your consent, a legal obligation or our legitimate interests, and subject to the safeguards required by law (Art. 44 to 49 GDPR), such as the EU Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Rights of Data Subjects

You have the right to request confirmation as to whether data concerning you is being processed and to obtain information about that data; to request the correction or completion of inaccurate data; to request the erasure or restriction of processing of data concerning you; to receive the data you have provided to us and request its transmission to other controllers (data portability); and to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.

Right of Withdrawal

You have the right to withdraw any consent given, with effect for the future.

Right to Object

You can object to the future processing of data concerning you at any time in accordance with legal requirements. The objection may in particular be made against processing for direct marketing purposes.

Cookies

We do not use cookies, and we do not use any tracking or advertising cookies from third parties.

Contact and Enquiry Forms

When you contact us through our contact or service-enquiry forms, the data you enter (e.g. name, company, email, telephone number and your message) is processed to handle your request and any follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual or pre-contractual requests and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for general enquiries. Form submissions are transmitted and processed on our behalf by our form service provider Rusty Forms (api.rusty-forms.com), which acts as a processor. To protect the forms against automated abuse we use Altcha, a privacy-friendly challenge that works without cookies and without tracking. We retain enquiry data for as long as necessary to process your request and to comply with statutory retention obligations.

Hosting and Content Delivery

This website is hosted as a set of static files with Amazon Web Services (Amazon S3 and Amazon CloudFront). When you access the site, your browser necessarily transmits technical data (in particular your IP address, the requested page, browser type and access time) that is processed in server log files for the purpose of delivering the site securely and reliably. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in an efficient and secure provision of our online presence pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Amazon Web Services acts as our processor.

Reach Measurement and Web Analytics (Liwan)

We use the privacy-friendly analytics software Liwan to evaluate and improve the use of our online presence. The processing is based on our legitimate interest in a statistical analysis of user behaviour for optimisation purposes pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Liwan does not use cookies and does not store IP addresses. Visitors are not recognised across websites. To distinguish visits, a pseudonymous identifier is generated from the IP address and browser identifier (user agent) using a cryptographic hash with a key that rotates daily; the IP address is discarded immediately after the calculation and is not stored. The resulting identifier does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about a specific person and is reset daily.

We collect in particular the pages accessed, referring domains (referrer), UTM parameters, browser type, operating system, device type, screen size, approximate origin (country/city) and the time of access.
